Dear Friends

19 May

He asked me a few questions yesterday.
It was about the nuclear plant.
We discussed for one hour after the experiment.
I was surprised that this student knew much of the nuclear plant.
We are deeply concerned for it.
We don't major in the nuclear.
But the TV news makes us get the knowledge of it.

There must be little poeple who believe what the Japanese government or Tokyo Electric Power Company says.
Now we know that Fukushima nuclear was in meltdown on the next day of the erathquake.
The hydrogen explosion occured and the radiogenic substances which were ten times of the criterion value of the radioactive accident level 7 were spread on the same day.
Mr.Nakamura who was the spokesman of Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency was replaced on the same day because he told that he thought the meltdown occured and that they should release the detail data of the radiogenic substances.
He was an expert of the nuclear problem.
But Mr. Nishiyama who became the spokesman for Mr. Nakamura isn't the expert of it.
It was one month later that the Japanese government released the the detail data of the radiogenic substances.
And it was two months later that we were informed by Tokyo Electric Power Company about the nuclear plant's meltdown.

We have a legislation in Japan.
We can't enter the area where the radiation dose exceeds 1.3mSv for three months.
But the Japanese government didn't put any restriction on the area where people recieve 20mSv for one year.
The local government of Koriyama city began to remove the surface soil of the elementary schools.
We had a news yesterday that the radiation dose from feed crop in Osaki city exceeded the limit value.
Sendai city is located about 100km(62miles) north of Fukushima nuclear plant.
And Osaki city is located more than 40km(25miles) north of Sendai.

IAEA made a recommendation to the Japanese government on March 31th. i.e. all residents in Iidate village should evacuate because of high radiation dose.
It was on April 22th. that the Japanese government put Iidate village on the list of the area from which the residents should evacuate.
One of my seminar students lives in Date city which is the adjacent area to Iidate village.
We know that the radiation dose exceeds the limit value in the part of Date city.
But the Japanese government didn't put any restriction to this city yet.
I told jokes up until a few days ago "Are you OK?".
I can see his face serious now.

The condition of the nuclear plant seems a little critical for us.
Probably more than ten times of water campared with the volume of the reactor pressure vessel was poured in.
If there was no damage of the vessel, water must have overflowed long before.
Even this, it was a few days before that Tokyo Electric Power Company said "We found a much water about 4000ton in the basement of the building Unit 1".
They gave up filling the reactor pressure vessel with water.
The temperature in the reactor pressure vessel Unit 3 continues to rise.
Even now, there are some places in the capital town of Fukushima prefecture where the radiation dose level is as same as the level in the inner 3km area of Chernobyl.
We pray the recriticality accident and the hydrogen explosion don't occur.

Another story...

He managed to speak after the evening worship of the college dormitory the day before yesterday.
"On that particular day".
He is my friend and the pastor of Shiogama Baptist church.
"This kindergarten child usually stays in the kindergarten by the evening."
Shiogama Baptist church has two kindergartens.
"But on that particular day, he visited his grandparents together with his brother."
Their grandparents had been living in Tagajo by that day.
As you know that I was in Tagajo campus on that day.
More than 180 people died in this city.
Her mother recieved the graduation certificate for him on Marh 25th.
